Here is an original ad for the 1965 Ghia that I recently purchased from EBAY! "Start it up, and it's a Volkswagen!"  Did you know, you can finds tons of VW and Ghia related items on eBay? Even REAL cars and hard to find parts!  (I have no affiliation with eBay other than the fact that I buy and sell a lot on it... and am a confessed eBay addict!)

Mr. Ghia is a 1965 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Roger, the first owner of our VW is a dear family friend. Roger bought Mr. Ghia on a whim, for exactly $2,590 including delivery & accessories in March of 1965. At the time, Mr. Ghia was bright Henna red with white wall tires, a black convertible top and oatmeal carpet. There were very few others like it driving around in Syracuse, NY and I doubt any like it today....

Together they had many years of adventures. They drove to California to attend the OTIS Art Institute. Roger has a pretty good story of how he was able to fit himself and 5 women in the car! THAT must have been a sight to see!  For us, the Ghia is a fun car to drive around in, but for Roger, this was his only vehicle. He says the car was great in the snow, but he did end up in a ditch one time!  He admits that he never liked driving it as much with the top up, it was difficult to see out the rear window.  He was known for driving around in the heart of winter with the top down... possibly why the top is in disrepair now.  Mr. Ghia sat in Roger's garage for about 10 years until I was ready for him to be mine!!!
